Information held about you
As part of the arrangements for this programme, evidence of eligibility and information must be collected. This will include employment status and other evidence required for the particular programme you are enrolling on. We also need to keep information on your progress through the programme.
West Lothian Council will collect personal information about you. Some or all of the following information will be held by West Lothian Council.
• Name, address, telephone number, email address and date of birth
• National insurance number
• Current unemployment details
Who is processing my data?
All personal information is held and processed by West Lothian Council in accordance with data protection law.
How will we use information we hold about you?
Your data will be used to support your progression towards employment, education, training or other positive outcomes and as such will be used for the following purposes.
• To avoid the unnecessary need for you to complete another registration form each time you receive assistance from a different training or employment organisation.
• To allow organisations detailed below to monitor the successes and performance of services offered and to undertake evaluations.
• To contact you for feedback regarding the quality of services provided to you.
• To monitor compliance with equal opportunities legislation.
• To enable organisations involved with Community Planning Partnership to identify the most appropriate support for you.
Who we will share your information with?
Your information will be shared with the following organisations:

• Representatives of other organisations who are members of the Community Planning Partnership (West Lothian College, Oatridge College, Careers Scotland, Intowork)
• Representatives of other council employability services, education and training organisations including Jobcentre Plus, Community Health Partnerships
• Funders, administrators and auditors of public funds including European Structural Funds e.g. the East of Scotland European Partnership (ESEP) and The Scottish Government.
How long do we keep your records?
We will endeavour to keep your information accurate and up-to-date, and to update or remove the data upon request by you. The council will only keep your information for a maximum of seven years unless there is a requirement to keep your information longer. After this time personal information will be securely destroyed.

You have a number of rights under data protection law, including the right to request your information and to request that the information be amended or, in some circumstances, erased.
