Thank you for taking the time out of your day and agreeing to take part in this survey.

Lancashire Women’s Centres have an opportunity to develop and design a service offer and pathway to better support people who have experiences on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our aim is to ensure women and their families can achieve their potential, develop their assets and skills and live safe, healthy and prosperous lives.

We recognise this is a time of high stress and distress for families as we often see women accessing mental health services some years following a traumatic birth experience who have experienced symptoms of depression, anxiety and even post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) resulting in family breakdown and ongoing distress. This is an opportunity to consider better support to help prevent ongoing difficulties.

As a result, we would like to know more about your experiences on NICU, the support that you received or would have like to have received, so that we can improve, develop and design a really responsive emotional wellbeing support service. We feel that, in order to do this successfully, as somebody who has been involved with NICU, your lived experience could be vital in ensuring that the most appropriate measures are put in place.

The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. Be assured that all the answers you provide will be kept securely and you will remain anonymous in the report. Once analysed the data will only be held for the duration of the research.

Please note, you are under no obligation to participate in this study and reserve the option to withdraw at any point.

Your opinions matter to us and to the setting up of emotional support services for those families who will rely on NICU at some point in the future.
